AeroFactTM: A Clinical Path to Inhaled Surfactant Treatment for Infants and Adults
Clark AR, Fink J.
Respiratory Drug Delivery 2024. Volume 1, 2024: 32-43.
Abstract:
The search for an effective non-invasive delivery method for exogenous lung surfactant has long been the ‘holy grail’ of surfactant therapy. Effective delivery requires a trilogy of technologies; the right particle size, breath-synchronization, and efficient dose delivery. This combination of technologies is currently in late-stage clinical development in infant respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). In addition, recent studies in adult RDS are producing insights into economical effective dosing regimens.
