Abstract:
Pulmonary delivery of caveolin-1 scaffolding domain peptide (CSP) is a new treatment strategy for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Particle engineering technologies have been applied to prepare inhalable CSP peptide to achieve desirable aerodynamic properties while maintaining its stability. This paper describes the development of inhaled CSP, particularly the 7-mer of CSP (CSP7), including formulation and process development, stability assessment, and in vivo efficacy.
